Friday night spotlight to focus Kangaroos

North Melbourne will use the spotlight that comes with Friday night football as motivation for their players as they attempt to regroup and perform well against Richmond after the sudden departure of long-serving coach Brad Scott.

The club is determined to back up strongly from the emotional events of last week, when they defeated the Western Bulldogs despite being thrown into turmoil on Friday afternoon, when news broke that the club and Scott had mutually agreed to part ways.

Veteran Jamie Macmillan said on Thursday the players were concentrating on controlling what they could control under caretaker coach Rhyce Shaw, with few changes expected for the clash against Richmond, which is the club’s first Friday night home game.

«He understands our heads are spinning, too,» Macmillan said.
